Consumer finance provider for clean cooking solutions
Investment narrative.
Yehu Microfinance Services Limited is a Kenya-based, credit-only MFI focused on rural and peri-urban micro-entrepreneurs along the coast and neighboring counties. Operating through ~16 branches with roughly 40,000 active borrowers, Yehu delivers mostly group loans aimed at productive uses across trade, agriculture, education, home improvement, and green energy. Around three-quarters of credit clients are women.
Yehu already offers a clean-energy line that finances improved cookstoves and LPG packages, partnering with suppliers such as BioLite.
Spark+ financing is supporting overall loan-book growth and expansion of Yehu’s clean cooking portfolio, including improved biomass stoves and LPG cylinders/cookers sourced through established distributors. The facility is intended to stabilize stock availability through vendor partnerships, deepen last-mile access for women clients, and scale an already active clean-energy product set.
